Melbourne circumcision

Circumcision is a minor procedure which removes the foreskin from the head of the penis. It is performed in Australia for many reasons ranging from medical problems with the foreskin requiring removal to cultural and religious reasons in some communities.

Dr Moz only performs circumcisions for boys under the age of 12 months.

Dr Moz uses the ring method.

This involves inserting a small plastic ring between the skin of the foreskin and the head of the penis.

A ligature (a type of medical thread) is then tied around the Circumplast device. This cuts off circulation to the foreskin which over the following week will fall away without any further intervention being necessary. The procedure does involve some of the foreskin being removed on the day in order to minimse risks of infection of the procedure.

All surgical procedures carry some risks. The Circumplast method is incredibly safe however there is always a small risk of infection, bleeding, bruising, reaction to medication used during the procedure, the Circumplast device slipping. These risks are discussed in detail during your consultation with Dr Moz along with any other questions you may have about the procedure.

Dr Moz has moved to a flat fee irrelevant of age of child.

For children eligible for medicare a deposit of $450 is payable on booking the appointment.

On the day of the procedure a further amount of approximately $250 will be payable to cover the medicare component. This will be refunded to your account within 2-3 business days in most cases.

For non Medicare eligeble patients the total fee is $750.

A deposit of $450 is payable on on booking the appointment.

On the day a further $350 will be payable.

For all patients the deposit is ONLY refundable if the appointment is cancelled at least 48 hours prior to your surgical appointment.
